so i just found out that my banji girl had an attempted delivery today! they come so early in the day i don't even have a CHANCE to try and catch the delivery person... so now i must hope that he comes back around again at the end of his shift like he did with lorenzo's body, or wait and pick her up tomorrow from the post office which is a pain in the bum to get parking at.

*sigh*

i just touched up ludo's eyebrows and lips. eyebrows were reasonably easy. lips were a pain in the ass.

and as far as the heart attack thing goes... i just realized that so far i've spent $120 on the bimong book project! *vomits till passing out*

i mean. it's going to be worth it. but my god. scrapbooking supplies are fucking expensive. (excuse my language. but if you knew me you'd know that i don't swear unless i really mean it.)

so budgetary issues (and me adopting a banji girl off of marketplace) have forced me to officially call my narin heartbreak Lorenzo, instead of having it be another expression for Ludovic. but really, the more i see this face, the less i'm able to associate it as being Ludo, anyway. he has a very different personality. very commanding, rather than simply sad. manipulative in a way that Ludo would never be, but Lorenzo always is.

not my best photography, but they're just so cute that i don't care.

notice how ludovic, who is usually a total ham, seems so shy next to his brother.

so, i guess at this time, since i won't be taking any new photos today, i'll share with you the other dolls that i would like to add to my wee resin family.

you'll note that all but one of them is french resin, and all the artists are friends or students of bimong... i'm just drawn to the certain aesthetic they all seem to share:

1. Narin Dragonfly face, by Narin Creative (artist Bimong)

this will be Lorenzo's face. he cannot wear Ludo's heartbreak face for long. particularly since i am now incapable of disassociating it from Ludo himself.

Lorenzo is Ludovic's vein, self-involved older brother. people fawn over his beauty, and he's highly aware of this. if it weren't for his companion, Lilith, he'd be manipulating everyone around him.

2. Narae, by Narin Creative (artist Bimong)

this will be Lorenzo's companion. i'm reasonably certain she will be named Lilith. she is a hot-tempered girl. the only person who would be able to put Lorenzo in his place. in the face of Lilith, Lorenzo become as meek as a lamb.

3. Minisup Yisol, by Supia (artist Yu-Jin)

at the moment i merely think she is quite cute. she might possibly be a cousin of Ludo and Lorenzo, or merely a friend. i'm not sure.

4. Narsha girl, by Narsha (artist Gu Mi-jeong)

Noola, Lilith's daughter. the product an affair with another man. as surprising as it may seem, Lorenzo has been able to look past his own pride and loves Noola as though she were his very own.

5. Eomji or Banji, by Elf Elly, aka Banji Doll (i don't know the name of the artist)

no name yet. a darling pixie from the same world that Lahlay (my forthcoming N-Dolls Miru) hails from.

i dug out my manual SLR (no, not digital) today and snapped some photos of ludo with his new bella facia.

i think he looks oddly like Cameron Diaz in the second one...

forgive the washed out face. my light meter was freaking out with the contrast of white resin against black.

ludo's heartbreak face arrived today!

initially i looked at it with skepticism... the colors aren't quiiite right (not that i could expect basicline to get them perfect by going off a photo of work she had done months and months ago) and he looked a bit mature. i thought "oh my goodness, this is lorenzo! not ludo!"

but then i photographed him and realized, yes... this is my sad ludo. it really really is:

now i need to order a matching pair of ludo's hazel eyes so i don't have to worry about switching them during photo shoots. as well as some eye putty. where on earth can i buy eye putty?

my first interest in ball-jointed dolls was sparked by artist Dollseye and her deviantart gallery (http://dollseye.deviantart.com). her collection of artist dolls put me in awe.

summer of last year i rediscovered her on flickr.com. her collection of both dolls and artwork had grown.

through some clicking around i was able to find multiple bjd communities on flickr, and therefor i found yui (aka tanya) and her gorgeous narin, yuu.

this is the first photo i ever saw of a narin. it was love at first site:

it was pretty much downhill from there. through dollseye and yui i learned about theDen of Angels Forums, i learned everything i could wish to know about bjds and then some... and realised that yes, narin was the doll for me.

a short time later i brought Ludovic home with me.

i now have a headless Limho body, a narin heartbreak face should be arriving at my doorstep at the end of the week, and an N-dolls Miru has already been ordered.

it's an addiction. an expensive one. but these dolls have become my muses. they make me so happy, i can't even express it. they touch my soul.
